Introduction
Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS) is a new powder metallurgy sintering technology in which metal or other powder is placed into a mold made of graphite or other materials, and specific sintering power and pressing pressure are applied through the upper/lower punches and current-carrying electrodes. The process completes high-performance materials through discharge activation, thermoplastic deformation, and cooling. SPS features sintering under pressure. The plasma generated by the pulsed current and the applied pressure during sintering help reduce the sintering temperature of the powder. At the same time, the low-voltage, high-current characteristics enable rapid densification of the powder.
Advantages: fast heating rate, short sintering time, low sintering temperature, uniform grain size, good control of fine microstructure, high density of the obtained material, simple operation, high reproducibility, safe and reliable, space saving, energy saving, and low cost.

Principle |
SPS technology applies ON-OFF DC pulses generated by a special power control unit to the powder sample. In addition to the usual sintering promotion effects of electrical discharge machining (discharge impact pressure and Joule heating), it also effectively utilizes the spark discharge phenomenon (instantaneous high-temperature plasma) between powder particles at the initial stage of the pulse discharge to promote sintering, achieving rapid densification through an instantaneous high-temperature field. |

Water Cooling System |
Composed of pipes and related devices. Cooling water enters the main inlet, then is distributed through branches to the furnace body, furnace cover, furnace bottom, water-cooled electrodes, and other points requiring cooling, then collected and discharged. Cooling water circulation hoses are made of high-temperature-resistant rubber. The main inlet pipe is equipped with an electric contact pressure gauge – when water pressure drops below 0.2 MPa, heating is automatically cut off. The main outlet pipe is equipped with a temperature sensor – when the temperature exceeds 45°C, heating is automatically cut off.
